That moment when you take that first, refreshing, yummy taste of your pomegranate and orange flavored sparkling water and you notice the label...
(Insert blood curdling scream here!)
- 140 CALORIES!
- 34G CARBS!
- 33G SUGAR!!
- Made with juice concentrate!
And I'm sitting here, eating an Atkins low carb frozen entrée!!
Whoa baby!
As I begrudgingly walk it back to the kitchen to stick it in the fridge, I see our other box of sparkling water.
Good grief! What's in this?!?
Grapefruit flavored...
- 0 CALORIES!
- 0 CARBS!
- 0 SUGAR!!
(insert thirsty sigh of relief here!)
I'm a goof! Thought because it was water, it was okay. Ha ha. I'm usually a label reader too. Who'd a thunk?
What's in your water?
I'm just curious if anyone ever wants to comment? I promise that I'm pretty nice!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your posts. I've had to really be a label reader. I cannot have pomegranate or grapefruit. It causes my anti rejection drugs not to work and I can't have that. I'm also counting carbs for diabetic diet and have to limit potassium. It's hard to find things that fit in my diet with my picky food likes.

ReplyDeleteThank you Beverly! It makes me happy that you enjoy my posts. This blog is therapy for me. =) It is so hard to make sure your not eating or drinking the wrong combinations and when you get into trouble because of "deceptive" labeling. With medical restrictions, it must take you forever to grocery shop. If you ever want to share your label reading tips, I'd love to have you guest blog!! We continue to pray and marvel over God's grace with your recovery. Hugs!
